Halo-DEC is an eco-safe, biodegradable, liquid polymer used to stabilize and solidify any soil or aggregate as well as erosion control and dust suppression. Results are based on the application rate used. Higher dilution application rates are useful for dust suppression and erosion control by creating a three-dimensional cap or surface crust. Lower dilution rates can generate finished qualities similar to cement; useful for soil solidification and stabilization found in road building. Halo DEC is a completely biodegradable product that is environmentally safe to use.

Halo-DEC can be used in a wide variety of high traffic or non-traffic areas such as steep grades where detailed surface preparation might not be practical or cost effective due to accessibility. In these areas, application of Halo-DEC is acceptable with minimal surface preparation effort.

  • Acreage roads
  • Private Roads
  • Embankments
  • Driveways

Surface Prepartion: Traffic Surfaces

The road should have all pot holes, ruts, and washboards filled. The road surface will require a minimum of 2-3” of unwashed and uncompacted spread gravel which will then need to be windrowed to one side, exposing the base of the road. Halo DEC will be applied after which the gravel will be replaced. A second coat of Halo DEC will be sprayed on to the surface. Allow the product to seep into the gravel prior to compacting the road.

For heavy traffic areas, a deeper penetration of product will be desired to stabilize the road bed. In which case a layer of Halo-DEC may need to be sprayed on the surface of the road, then mixed into the road up to 3”, packed then reapplied.

Application coverage and dilution rates may vary depending on traffic volume, load bearing capacity, soil type, weather conditions, soil moisture levels and compaction.

Surface Preparation: Non-Traffic Areas

In areas such as steep grades, detailed surface preparation might not be practical or cost effective due to accessibility. In these areas, application of Halo-DEC is acceptable with minimal surface preparation effort.

The site should be maintained free of debris, water seepage, protruding weeds, oil seepage, foot traffic, and equipment traffic before and during application until material has dried.
